The Hospital Auxiliary was started in 1982 with the help of Lucille Nelli and Sally Strub. Seeing that the hospital did not have an auxiliary at the time, both were committed to establishing a volunteer program within the hospital. Over time, the program evolved into the Volunteer Partners and this July will mark the 20th anniversary of the volunteer organization at Cumberland Healthcare.
Some of the activities that volunteers are involved with are: sewing, escorting, visiting with patients, personal security units, fundraising, growing plants & flowers, working in the gift shop, knitting, parenting newsletters, sing-a-longs, Saturday popcorn/treats, doing hair & nails, crafts and providing baby’s first books to newborns born at Cumberland Healthcare.
Men and women are encouraged to become a volunteer and participate in these activities. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Cumberland Healthcare please contact Bobbi Wyss, Volunteer Partners Coordinator at (715) 822-5164. We truly do believe our volunteers are the “best of the best.” Our volunteers play a very important role within our facility. We encourage and welcome anyone interested to partner with us in providing the care we have come to be known for within our community.
